Multi-country consolidation solutions deliver 20 percent cost reduction on air and ocean freight
Agility manages the high-volume, global supply chain of a Spanish multinational clothing retailer responsible for textile design, production and distribution to 5,500 stores worldwide. With buyer consolidation at 11 origin sites in four countries and exports to four destination countries with more than 300 suppliers, some 14,000 tons of air volume and 120,000 cubic meters of ocean volume moved through Agility’s network in one year. By offering deferred transit time service for Spain, Agility defrayed air freight costs by 20 percent. A sports apparel brand with stringent sustainability requirements looks to Agility to keep supply chains green in Indonesia and the Philippines. Meeting consumers’ expectations for new footwear products packaged neatly in boxes, the brand ships cartons comprised of individually boxed products. Not every shipment arrives full, so Agility collapses and stacks unused boxes so that they can be used for future orders. This practice of conserving packaging has saved the customer 69.7 percent in Indonesia and 74.98 percent in the Philippines, totaling $2.2 million in savings. What’s more, Agility’s optimization of data through EDI allows better visibility of inventory needs so that the customer spends less on unneeded resources.
